Position Description

Responsible for service issue resolution to assist our distribution partners and customers, working with internal teams. Establish successful working relationship with our broker partners.

Responsible for the daily support of the sales function to minimize the administrative work of producers. Responsibilities include analyzing and reporting sales data, communicating changes to sales plans, providing knowledge about customers and competitors, communicating pricing data, and managing the operational logistics of sales meetings and activities. Works closely with sales and other functional leaders to develop and maintain the operational infrastructure supporting sales recruiting, goal setting, training and onboarding, troubleshooting order processing issues and producer requests, and sales-related information systems and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Service contact for the sales team and their respective brokers and client groups in the Small Business segment (2-99), Account Management Services.
  • Facilitate resolution of administration/service issues and develops strong internal and external working relationships that encourage renewal and future business with UnitedHealthcare.
  • Provide administrative and service support for new and existing business, researching and resolving issues relating to claims, billing and enrollment.
  • Collaborate with dedicated functional experts to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Request ad-hoc reports to research a service issue or claim.
  • Delegate management for e-Services.
  • Request/process direct debit forms.
  • Resolve administrative errors during renewal process.
  • Work closely with sales / service to ensure client receives superior customer service.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with brokers/consultants through direct and indirect communication.
  • Educate / train agents / clients on general administrative processes and service paths.
  • Assist broker / employer / members on
  • Assist broker / employer on e-Services self-service communications site.
  • Conduct Welcome Calls to new clients.
  • Gather data and identify trends in order to recommend process improvement strategies, i.e. research issues to analyze root causes and determine corrective action; identify trends in process metrics and service issues to determine root causes.


  • Understanding of all UnitedHealthcare products, services and solutions.
  • Applies sound analytical skills, demonstrates knowledge of the healthcare industry, and quickly assesses problems and selects the appropriate solution.
  • Demonstrates ability to recommend solutions based on data. 
  • Connects with agents / customers by showing genuine interest in their concerns and desires, cultivates the UHC matrix and internal relationships for mutual benefit.
  • Actively listens, paraphrases, summarizes in order to ensure shared understanding of customer’s request or issue, expresses thoughts and ideas in clear and compelling audience appropriate manner, using appropriate style, prepares clear and concise communications.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 3+ years of work experience in the health care industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook (emailing and calendar scheduling)
  • State Health and Life Insurance license, or ability to obtain within 60 days required
