The Account Director serves as the bridge between the client and business owners and Creative Services. They are responsible for ensuring that the internal agency is meeting the client’s strategic needs and working with all of the key functions that go into creating the department’s video output. They are constantly solving problems, managing internal and external communications, and formulating strategic solutions for key marketing initiatives; driving those projects to completion.



The Account Director acts as a direct liaison and relationship builder to all internal marketing clients and teams enterprise wide. Similar to an account director in an advertising agency, but with a requirement to service all clients, accounts, and individual jobs at once. This person must possess very detailed television production skills as well as specific technical knowledge and will be required to bid or estimate many projects at a time, within a very short amount of time, with very little detail. This position is responsible for accurate client billing, creative realization of marketing messages, and ensuring that all projects hit the appropriate key in-market offer dates.



The Account Director recognizes the big picture and sets strategy accordingly, with the skills necessary to engage in the overall enterprise priorities, utilizing industry experience, knowledge, and culture balanced with organizational data, information, and economic understanding to navigate and evaluate decisions and business matters. This person’s judgment will be relied on to ascertain if those goals are best attained by departing from established procedures altogether should the situation arise where they deem this necessary.



**Main responsibilities:**



+ Approves marketing management initiatives based on the impact to strategic marketing planning objectives and strategies. Directs management focused on multiple, complex, short-range and long-range projects requiring diverse marketing theories and techniques.

+ Oversee, create and cultivate productive client relationships. Strive to eliminate confusion, building value for the team and earning trust from any and all stakeholders – essentially the face of the department and point of contact for all inquiries.

+ Serves as a partner in Creative Services for teams across the company to help strategize the most cost effective implementations of business objectives, and grow marketing and branding opportunities.

+ Negotiate project scope for hundreds of video and commercial projects – for both current customer and national acquisition.

+ Partners with clients to assist in the creation of project briefs; a well-targeted brief is imperative to a successful campaign or initiative.

+ Onboard hundreds of projects that come into the department to make sure they are assigned correctly, the proper talent is secured, timelines are met, budgets are estimated correctly and adhered to (from $5k - $2M+ each).

+ Field and delegate hundreds of requests from groups and individuals across the enterprise for pre-existing spots, videos and assets. Prioritize and approve these requests with a deep understanding of all terms and conditions for use; from licensing, contractual, and messaging perspectives.

+ Define execution and delivery processes along with licensing policies for compliance, working closely with legal teams and operations.

+ Oversee licensing renewals with union talent and other assets, such as, stock footage and music tracks. This requires a keen understanding of union rules and procedures, as well as the ability to clearly negotiate terms on behalf of our clients and business owners.

+ Manage expectations of production team, executives and day-to-day communication with clients.

+ Ensure all work achieves its potential, is delivered on budget and clients are invoiced correctly.



+ Significant experience in professional client relationship management.

+ A solid background in advertising, design or marketing.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

+ The ability to plan and strategize at a senior level.

+ A keen attention to detail and budgetary restraints.

+ High level of analytical and organizational skills.

+ Full awareness of creative processes and techniques – including digital platforms.

+ Ability to work as an authoritative figure in a leadership role on a busy team.

+ Strong deal closing and negotiation skills.

+ Willingness to note relevant trends and develop ideas.

+ Real understanding of television, video and web advertising opportunities.

+ Creativity and initiative combined with commercial awareness.

+ Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and demanding targets.



**Desired Qualifications:**



Education: Bachelors or advanced degree preferred.



Experience: Typically requires 10 or more years of experience.


Broadcast and Account experience required.



Supervisory: No.
