Sodexo is seeking an Accounting Manager for the Contract Compliance department at our Financial d Services Center in Cheektowaga, NY.



  • Supervise day to day activities in specific aspects of accounting (e.g. contract attribute database, revenue recognition templates, contractual price adjustments, audits).  Prioritize and align departmental activities to meet the changing needs of the field and corporate direction.  
  • Supervise PwC audits and other internal or external audits as required
  • Develop and implement value added changes to the Contract Attribute database in collaboration with Sodexo business owners
  • Identify employee development needs and implement action plans.  Provide motivation and position growth development guidance.  Train and guide on company policies and procedures, processes and systems, problem resolution techniques and effective communications.
  • Resource management including hiring, counseling and discipline processes and decisions.
  • Lead and support company and department initiatives, process improvements and projects.
  • Analyze systems and procedures, recommend and develop business specifications for process improvements.  Work as a liaison with IT to supervise testing and implement system updates.  Oversee the accuracy and reliability of accounting systems and databases.
  • Provide contract interpretation and objective accounting judgment in the production of accurate and reliable financial reports for Sodexo and its clients. 
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), Sodexo policies and procedures, and client contracts.
  • Communicate accounting guidance to support business decisions for diverse audiences (i.e. peer group, unit and district management, division and corporate finance, various corporate departments and auditors).


Position Summary

Responsible for coordinating and supervising the maintenance of the general ledger and the production of various resultant financial statements. May direct a group of general accountants. May participate in the most complex general accounting projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree 

Basic Management Experience - 3 years   

Basic Functional Experience - 3 years
