As a subsidiary of UHS, Windsor Laurelwood Center in Willoughby, OH is seeking a dynamic and talented Activities Therapist-PRN.
This position is responsible for planning, organizing and leading recreational therapy activities as well as contributes to treatment team meetings on all units. Assess patient needs and organizes special events. The employee will work with patients whose abilities to manage usual activities of daily living are compromised by behavioral health problems. The delivery of Activities Therapy services includes data collection, assessment, formulating a treatment plan and implementing the plan to resolve identified problems.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Music Therapy, Art Therapy or graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
Two (2) years of prior experience in one of the above disciplines. Previous healthcare experience preferred.
Requires knowledge of the theory and practices of behavioral health and their application to situations of everyday living. Requires knowledge of the characteristics of psychiatric diagnosis and treatment practices relating to them.
Must be certified by profession’s credentialing board (either art, music, recreational or occupational therapy). Will maintain active CPR and CPI certification.
