This is a very exciting time for Cisco. A few months ago Cisco took the first step into transforming the networking industry. The network will now be one that is able to manage in an automated and extremely agile way the increasing number of devices that will be connected as the world moves towards digitization powered by IoT at an unprecedented speed. This network also brings a level of intelligence and a fundamental approach to security paramount for digitization, IoT and cloud computing to work.

At the core of this transformation, it is the evolution to Software and Cloud network capabilities. With that, it is imperative that the company transforms the way we develop, introduce and manage the solutions that it brings to market. Specifically, the imperative is to move from focus on New Product Introduction traditional process to an Adaptive Lifecycle Mgmt. that puts significant emphasis on Customers adopting, expanding and renewing solutions. It is also critical that this shift focuses on the Customers and Partners journey, experience and success. Paramount to this is the ability for Cisco to build into its solutions the capabilities needed in order for Cisco’s value chain to be able to provide such experience to Customers and Partners.

Ensuring that this new Lifecycle Management approach is an Adaptive one is critical to the company’s strategy. That will be pursued by a sensing model throughout the Customer and Partner journey that allows Cisco’s and Partner’s value chain to rapidly learn and adapt.

This overall transformation will require Cisco to build a solid Adaptive mindset across the company. This mindset change, will be anchored on Adaptive, Agile and Transformational leadership research and it will be intertwined with the business execution.

The office of Business strategy and operating model integration reporting directly to the Executive Vice President of Enterprise Networking, Security, Data Center and Cloud Business Entity has been tasked to lead this company effort.  This effort is sponsored by Cisco’s CEO and his executive staff. In order to execute this transformation, we are creating several positions for Adaptive Orchestrators.

People in this role will be responsible for the cross-function facilitation and orchestration of the Adaptive Lifecycle Management transformation. The person will be tasked to ensure appropriate interlocks between the different areas of the value chain. She/he will also be responsible for orchestrating the build-out and/or evolution of capabilities across the value chain needed in order to support the Customer journey. In order to do this, the person will have to drive and influence commitments and action needed to remove barriers and steer efforts to accelerate execution in alignment with the strategy. In some cases, it will be necessary to define or redefine strategies. In this case, we will expect the Adaptive Orchestrator to facilitate and drive that development.

The following are skills and experience considered critical to this position:

·       Significant knowledge of 2 or more of the following areas in the Business Value Chain: Product Management, Sales, Channels management, Customer success and Operations

·       Strong Program management skills and experience

·       Clear understanding and experience of the Customer journey and technology lifecycle in the SW industry

·       Excellent facilitation skills. Preferable in Agile Execution and Design Thinking style

·       Deep understanding and experience in mindset change

·       Ability to influence with empathy and high business acumen

·       Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

·       Proven experience in running cross-functional strategic efforts

·       Experience in presenting to and influencing Sr. executives

·       Bachelor degree. Business Master degree preferable
