Timberlawn Behavioral Health System, is a 144-bed behavioral health facility located in Dallas, TX. Timberlawn offers inpatient treatment programs for children, adults and older adults, creating individualized plans for each patient based on their specific needs. Services include medication management, psychiatric treatment, social support, recreational therapy, family therapy and more. Timberlawn is looking for a seasoned / dedicated Admissions Counselor who will be assigned to our Admissions Department. The Admission Counselor has responsibility for assessment, referral and admission activities. The Admission Counselor ensures prompt response to patient and referral needs, provides clinical assessment, and assures appropriateness of risk assessment, crisis interventions and referral to level of care. The Admission Nurse promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Timberlawn Behavioral Health System. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency, knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Flexibility is a must.
Masters’ degree in Social Work, Master’s degree in Counseling Licensed by the State of Texas, LPC, LPC-I, LMSW, LCSW Prefer 1 year of assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting. Prefer knowledge of hospital admissions functions, leadership skills, crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management Must have current CPR certification
