Timberlawn Behavioral Health System, an inpatient behavioral health facility located in Dallas, TX  is looking for a seasoned / dedicated  Staff Nurse, RN  who will be assigned to our Intake Department on a PRN basis. 

The Admission Nurse has responsibility for assessment, referral and admission activities.The Admission Nurse ensures prompt response to patient and referral needs, provides clinical assessment, and assures appropriateness of risk assessment, crisis interventions and referral to level of care. The Admission Nurse promotes patient care consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Timberlawn MHS.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate cometency, knowledge, skill and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Flexibility is a must, and the knowledge and skills to accomplish the job.


Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, BSN preferred 

Licensure and registration by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners as a registered nurse

Must have current CPR certification

Prefer 1 year of assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with psychiatric mental
health population, preferably in an inpatient setting

Prefer knowledge of hospital admissions functions, leadership skills, crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management
