Position Summary:

Austin Lakes Hospital, located in beautiful, Austin, TX has a part-time ASSESSMENT COUNSELOR - RN position available in its INTAKE department.  Austin Lakes Hospital offers a continuum of psychiatric services for adults 18 and up with acute mental health needs in a confidential, caring environment that promotes crisis resolution, positive self awareness, personal growth and problem solving skills. The cornerstone of our treatment rests on exceptional mental health services and clinical excellence. Our continuum of care includes inpatient and outpatient psychiatric services to stabilize symptoms of depression, anxiety and other behavioral health disorders.

Austin Lakes is seeking a qualified candidate for Assessment Counselor RN in its Admissions team to work 7p to 7a on Saturdays and 10a - 10p Tue.   Even though this is a part-time position, it is eligible for our $2,000.00 Sign-On Bonus/Retention Bonus!

This part-time nursing professional will report to the Director of Admissions. Of primary focus is the fielding of inquiries, thorough, accurate and timely assessment for admission, excellent communication, and appropriate referral for services, all with strong Service Excellence. This position is on a team of professionals that drives the success of the hospital.



 
Requirements

EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing.

LICENSURE: 
Licensed to practice nursing in Texas in good standing.

EXPERIENCE:
At least two years nursing experience in the mental health field, preferably in an admissions / intake role.  Prefer strong experience in admissions / triage role in an acute psychiatric hospital.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Excellent clinical assessment skills.  Excellent communication skills, i.e., verbal and written. Ability to prioritize; work well under periods of high stress and pressure. Thorough knowledge of psychiatric services provided by the hospital. Ability to work flexible hours. Requires a basic understanding of computers and accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of insurance contracts and payors. Knowledge of precertification requirements for inpatient hospitalization.
