Texas NeuroRehab Center (TNC) provides complex medical and brain injury rehab, chemical dependency treatment for adults and neuropsychiatric treatment for youth. The capabilities of the facility as a whole allow for integrated and specialized care for children, adolescents and adults facing difficult challenges.

Texas NeuroRehab Center is currently accepting applications for Clinical Admissions Assessor.

The Clinical Admissions Assessor provides initial risk assessment and determination of appropriateness of admission to our facility.  They are the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients and are the first impression for accessing services at our facility.  They coordinate the referral and intake process and determine appropriate level of care.  They maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.  The Clinical Admissions Assessor assists the Physician by providing supportive information that helps complete a comprehensive initial evaluation for each potential patient.

 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to clinically assess and make appropriate referrals

  • Excellent communication skills, i.e., verbal and written.

  • Ability to prioritize, work well under periodic stress and pressures.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of funding entities.

  • Requires a basic understanding of computers.

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

  • Regular and predictable attendance.

 

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field.

                        Masters in Social Work preferred

 

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current Driver’s License or State issued Id. Clinical licensure/certification in health related field preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years experience in the health care field; minimum two years experience in social work, case management or admissions; previous experience with a rehabilitation or psychiatric facility is preferred; previous sales and marketing experience preferred.  Prefer experience with data base and Microsoft Word/Excel.

 

PHYSICAL/GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Vision, hearing, verbal communication ability (by phone and face-to-face), emotional stability, and dexterity sufficient to perform essential job functions and handle stress and changing priorities. Physical agility to manage patients who may be aggressive or require physical assistance.  Requires repeated use of hands and fine motor skills to use computer and to manipulate papers. Able to see and write legibly and grammatically correct. Able to learn and complete computer activities. Able to lift/lower up to 30 pounds and grasp and move items (including changing paper on computer printer). Able to sit for extended periods of time. Able to stand for extended periods of time (to file and research inquiries). Regular and expected attendance.
