Job Description

(UHS) is one of the nation’s largest and most respected health care management companies, operating through its subsidiaries acute care hospitals, behavioral health facilities and ambulatory centers nationwide.  Heritage Oaks Hospital is part of the UHS family of providers.  Located in the northern part of Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited 125-bed acute psychiatric facility offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults and senior adults. 

We are seeking talented individuals to join our energetic, compassionate team of behavioral health professionals in providing clinical excellence to our patients as they strive to meet their treatment goals and work towards an improved quality of life.  We are currently considering candidates for the position of Admissions RN.

The Admissions Nurse is a Staff RN who is responsible for assuring that the admission process is carried out properly.  She/he utilizes the nursing process and adheres to established standards of care, mental health practices, and hospital policy, goals and objectives in executing this responsibility.  This position also assures that admissions are managed in a timely and courteous manner.



Job Requirements


Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required.  A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of two (2) years experience as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.

Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.

Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.  CPR certification and successful completion of the hospital’s designated physical and behavioral management training program, including de-escalation and appropriate use of seclusion and restraint, required prior to assisting in the procedures.  Incumbent may be required to work overtime or flexible hours.
