    Sodexo has an exciting opportunity for an AMS Compliance (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Intern.  The purpose of this internship is to help Sodexo standardize and optimize its operations to yield significant cost reduction, improved regulatory compliance, improved financial reporting, safety improvement, asset lifecycle optimization, increased reliance and system reliability and an enhanced reputation.

     

    The Asset Management Framework (AMF), the “Sodexo Way” for delivering technical maintenance and asset lifecycle services is a significant change from our current approach. The AMF requires a team of professionals to deliver these services such as but not limited to: -

    1. engaging the management of the client in a consultative environment to deliver the asset management objectives
    2. performing key assessments and developing site specific programs
    3. collect asset data

    This position will support the Hard FM (Asset Management and Engineering) Services of the North America FM Platform and supports the Global FM Platform to define Sodexo’s asset management and engineering (Hard FM) services.

     

    Located on a Sodexo Facilities Management account, the AMS Compliance (QA/QC) Intern will be an integral part of the Asset Management and Technical Services Team.

     

    He/she will assist the review and understand the current method of delivery of facilities management services to objectively quantify the level of quality of our service delivery in comparison to what was promised in our contract with the client.

     

    The AMS Compliance (QA/QC) Intern would then work with the team to help identify gaps or causes of any shortcomings.

     

    He/she can assist with prescribed actions along with enabling tools, technical support, software, processes and standard operating procedures to ensure the success of the remediation/correction plan.

     

    Depending upon the progress of the Asset Management and Technical Services team’s progress in their journey to help deliver optimal service at our client site, the AMS Compliance (QA/QC) Intern will be responsible for supporting:

    • the development of a flow process for implementing/updating/validating:
      1. the asset inventory per the AMF’s site procedures
      2. validating the asset criticality assessment per the AMF’s site procedures
      3. the asset condition assessment data
    • implementation/updating/validation of the asset:
      1. inventory per the AMF’s site procedures
      2. criticality assessment per the AMF’s site procedures
      3. condition assessment
    • the development of:
      1. an initial capital replacement plan
      2. a formal strategy for the management of the assets
      3. a formal organization structure and process for the asset management program
      4. an asset performance and condition monitoring process
    • the development of a flow process for the AMF’s procedures:
      1. strategy and objectives
      2. organization, roles, authorities
      3. statutory/mandatory requirements
      4. asset management planning
      5. asset risk assessment
      6. asset performance and condition monitoring process
    • the development of the utilization or synthesis of the condition assessment data, criticality data and asset management strategy, to perform a risk assessment of the assets and identify any risk mitigation actions that may be required
    • the utilization of the condition assessment data, criticality data, risk assessment and asset management strategy, to develop a strategic capital replacement plan for the assets
    • the utilization of the capital replacement plan and asset management strategy, to develop a maintenance strategy for the assets
    • the update of the maintenance activities and schedules in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to reflect the maintenance strategy
    • the development of the flow process for implementing the final set of the AMF’s program procedures. These procedures will address: Outsourcing Process, Asset Management Performance Monitoring Process, Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Process, Maintenance Strategies Development Process, Technical Facilities Operational Management, Critical Spares and Inventory Management Process, Communication, Participation & Consultation, Management of Change Process, Tools, Facilities and Equipment Process, Contingency Planning Process, Investigation of Asset Related Failures Process, Management Review, Audit and Compliance Management, Asset Management Competencies and Development, Asset Investment & Replacement, Asset Design & Commissioning, and Asset Decommissioning and Disposal

     

    Knowledge and Skills

    • Graduate student with an interest in all areas of quality control and quality assurance e.g., the Toyota Production System, kaizen methods, TPM, JIT, SMED
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
    • Keen interest in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing concepts
    • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing

    Minimum Requirements 

    • Education or Equivalent Experience: Should be enrolled in a graduate or PhD program in the area of study that is focused on data analysis

     

     

     

     

     

    Position Summary

    Position is part of a formal internship program in professional development in the contract management services industry. Supports business units and assists in projects. Builds skills and knowledge in large corporate and team environment

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Current college student with studies in hospitality/food management, facilities management, engineering, communications, human resources, accounting, marketing or another industry related college program.
