Description **ROLE SUMMARY**



As a member of the R&D and WSRM Business Technology Business Insights (BI) Analytic Solutions and Technologies (AST) Team, the Analytics Solutions Developer will support groups focused on driving business results through global data-driven solutions to create actionable insights.



The Analytics Solutions and Technologies (AST) team is part of the Business Insights (BI) group in the Research and Development Business Technology (R&D BT) organization.



We provide our customers in Worldwide Safety, Regulatory, and Medical (WSRM) and R&D with Business Intelligence solutions that enable them to run their business and gain insights from their information.



As part of this group, this role will be involved in the solution architecture, design, development and management of reporting and analytics solutions that use technologies including but not limited to Informatica, Oracle, Business Objects, Spotfire, SAS, R, and Tableau.



**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**



+ Implement Business Intelligence (BI) reporting and analytical solutions for Research, Development, Worldwide Safety, Regulatory, Medical (R&D and WSRM) including data solutions such as materialized views, virtualized data layers, data transformations and reporting solutions.

+ Act as the technical lead by providing strategic direction, solutions delivery, operational oversight, and technical guidance for one or more business intelligence solution, platform or service.

+ Provide technical oversight for contracted resources that are designing, building, supporting, and maintaining BI reporting and analytics solutions.

+ Act as the Business Insights (BI) subject matter expert to other IT disciplines and service providers including engagement managers, architects, application hosting services, platform engineers, business partners and shared services.

+ Contribute to BI project delivery by providing technical, domain, and project execution expertise throughout all phases of the development life cycle. Ensure a holistic design and all aspects of the potential solution are well integrated and functioning in harmony.

+ Development of project schedules by identifying technical tasks and system dependencies, and estimating resources, cost and task duration.

+ Perform risk analysis and impact assessments when solution integrates with other Pfizer systems.

+ Assist Application Service Delivery Manager in the creating of application support plans. Transition application subject matter expertise to support teams. Provide technical help as required for critical priority issues.

+ Collaborate and partner closely with other Business Technology service providers including Global Business Intelligence team members, Quality Management, engagement managers, architects, application hosting services, platform engineers, business partners and shared services.

+ Contribute to BI project delivery by providing technical, domain, and project execution expertise throughout all phases of the development life cycle.

+ Perform risk analysis and impact assessments when solution integrates with other Pfizer systems.



**QUALIFICATIONS**



Education / Experience



+ Undergraduate degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, etc.).

+ Experience with Business Intelligence or Data Analytics and Visualization projects is highly preferred

+ 5+ years prior work experience preferred; Pharmaceutical, Consumer Goods and/or Technology experience preferred

+ Advanced degree, MS, in technical, information scientific discipline

+ Relevant experience solutions design, development, maintenance and delivery.

+ Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.

+ Applicants must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and collaborations.

+ Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team is a must. Experience working on virtual teams is preferred.



Technical Skills / Requirements



+ Business intelligence and information management skills such as reporting, analytics, data warehousing, programming or other related fields.

+ Knowledge/experience in the design, develop, and implement reporting solutions preferably using business intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Tableau, Spotfire, Hadoop, SAS, and/or R.

+ Knowledge /Experience of database technologies like SQL, PL/SQL, Relational databases (Oracle, MS SQL etc) and data warehouse technologies (eg: informatica) preferred.

+ Knowledge of the Business Technology solutions Delivery life Cycle (SDLC) and information technology engineering practices including technical requirements definition, design, implementation, configuration and systems life cycle management.

+ Ability to serve as a source of technical/functional expertise and perspective to the technology community within the organization and to external partners.

+ Domain knowledge expertise in pharmaceutical industry is preferred.

+ Ability to create technical examples, prototypes, and demonstrations based on rapidly changing requirements and thrive in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment.

+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

+ Ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.

+ Proven experience developing solutions with business intelligence tools such as Business Objects, Informatica, Spotfire, Tableau, SAS, R, Hadoop, and Oracle.

+ Excellent verbal and communication skills.

+ Computer systems experience desirable (i.e. operating systems, storage devices and practices, performance tuning, web services, interface design, software testing, software engineering, data modeling).
