Position Summary

We are seeking an Applications Development Consultant for our Minnetonka, MN location Responsible for supporting Operations and working on Light Enhancements/Break fixes which involves working on designing, developing, testing, and implementing applications using ETL processes using IBM DataStage 11.3, Teradata 15 and Unix based on requirements gathered directly from business users or using ETL Functional Specifications.  Responsible for defining ETL design, developing and integrating data from disparate sources and disparate data formats including Requirements gathering, Source System Analysis, Data Quality, Slowly Changing Dimensions mappings, ETL-QA,  Performance Tuning, Maintenance and Production Support using IBM Datastage and Custom built scripts using PLSQL and  Unix Korn Shell.  Use SQL and various Database utilities including DB2 Autoloader, SQL Loader and Teradata load Utilities. Experience in developing Stored Procedures, Functions, Packages, Database triggers, Materialized views and experience in Query optimization, Performance tuning. Responsible for coordinating data refreshes on the Database and addressing any issues that may arise during the refresh. Develop technical solutions to their requirements.  Write JIL scripts using scheduling tools like TWS, Control M or Autosys. Responsible for programming applications and debugging with UNIX shell scripting. Making performance enhancements to processes based on analysis and statistics; and troubleshooting issues within ETL, UNIX, and Database environments. Analyze data in source systems in the event of any issues with data; write control scripts, set environment scripts, space management scripts, and archiving/retrieval scripts using UNIX shell scripting.  Archive and restore using Archive Utilities and execute change management responsibilities. Coordinate with offshore teams for successful offshore delivery, Coordinate with the testing team for validation and the BA team for requirements and coordinate with the development team for successful deployment of code and knowledge transfer.  Document Design Specifications or Approach and Transformation Rules.  Responsible for code review and unit testing; migrating code from development to UAT and production; maintaining versions of code using subversion or equivalent version control tool; and scheduling jobs using TWS (Tivoli Work Scheduler). Responsible for loading data into various environments which includes Teradata using TPT (Teradata Parallel Transporter) and verifying the loaded data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5 years related progressive, post-baccalaureate experience. Will accept experience gained concurrently
  • Must have demonstrated experience with  (1) Defining ETL design, developing and integrating data from disparate source systems and disparate data formats including Requirements gathering, Source System Analysis, Data Quality, Slowly Changing Dimensions mappings, ETL-QA,  Performance Tuning, Maintenance and Production Support using IBM Datastage and Custom built scripts using PLSQL and  Unix Korn Shell; (2) Using SQL and various Database utilities including DB2 Autoloader, SQL Loader and Teradata load Utilities.
