Working within the Reliability Maintenance environment, performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, and maintains company process instrument and control systems and provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc). Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology, project scope and follow up).



Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner.



The Process Instrument /Controls person also installs, configures, maintains and repairs complex computer systems, from Process Logic Controllers to Distributive control systems. He/she configures, calibrates, maintains and repairs state of the art electronic ("smart") process measuring and control instruments, while still maintaining expertise in older technologies, such as pneumatic. He/she has to be aware of and adhere to all electrical codes, particularity intrinsic safety. Participates in multicraft work activities as required. (EMU craft generic).



Additional Duties and Responsibilities Include: May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Participates in multi-craft work activities as required.

Functional/Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of basic discipline. Limited knowledge of industry practices and standards.



Problem Solving and Innovation: Develop solutions to routine problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures. Communication in developing and implementing solutions is critical.



Discretion, Latitude, Level of Independence: Works with minimal Supervision.

Impact and Organizational Contribution: Contributes to the completion of routine tasks.



Teamwork/Influence: Contacts are primarily within immediate work group or within normal process-related work flow.



Time Span of Work: Daily tasks and deliverables. Results can usually be measured on daily or weekly basis.



Journeymen Educational Requirements:

High school diploma / general education degree (GED) or Associates Degree. Journeyman Process Instrumentation and Controls Technician required. Additional qualifications preferred: Electrical License or Licensed Journeyman Electrician. Will consider Electrical License or Licensed Journeyman with Process Instrument and Controls experience.



Technical Skills Requirements:

Excellent computer user skills are required (Microsoft systems). Blue print reading a plus

Excellent communications Skills

Strong work ethic and the ambition to be the best.



PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, noisy, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Participates in multi-craft work activities as required. (EMU craft generic).
