  • Unit Description

    Sodexo's School Services Division is seeking an Area General Manager.  This dynamic leader will assist with Leading 4 districts in Mid-Atlantic Region and will directly be responsible for nutrition, Safety, Marketing, HR.  This position will work in NJ.  Must have 5 + years of proven leadership in a K 12 setting under USDA/National School Lunch Program guidelines.  Strong financial, operational and program standards knowledge along with exceptional client relations a must.  The position will support other General Manager's in the region and assist the District Manager as assigned.

      

    Candidate must be highly organized with exceptional financial management, communication and technical skills and be able to drive customer participation.  Must be able to build strong relationship with client, provide creative and innovative food service options.  Experience managing a union staff in a food service environment highly desired.

     

    The Area Manager for nutrition is responsible for leading and supporting current partnerships and potential new partnerships.  The ideal candidate will have experience managing multiple food locations in education with Sodexo preferred.  This position will report directly to District Manager working full year.

    Position Summary

    Directs all contract management service operations at a single unit and provides additional resources to at least 2 other nonrelated accounts/units in the same geographic area. Assists DM with sales surveys, training of unit staff, and special projects. Supports and mentors GMs in respective area of responsibility. Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s degree

    Basic Management Experience - 5 years

    Basic Functional Experience - 4 years’ experience in management of school nutrition programs
