The UHS Behavioral Health division has an opportunity for a Fulltime Art Therapist at our Rolling Hills Hospital facility located in Franklin, Tennessee. At Rolling Hills Hospital, we offer behavioral health services for Adolescents, Adults, Adults with dual diagnoses, and Older Adult/Geriatrics. The Art Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for assigned program (music, art, recreation, etc.) which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services. The Art Therapist plans and provides therapeutic activity groups of all groups and recognizes the importance of adapting to the various patient age groups. Knowledge of psychiatric care techniques, motivational techniques, and excellent leadership skills are required.


Education/Training: Master's degree from an accredited college/university in activity therapy, music, art, or related field preferred


  • Certification by state and/or national governing body in one of the following areas preferred: Certified Recreational Therapy Specialist (CTRS), Music Therapist Registered (MTR), or Art Therapist Registered (ATR)
  • Successful completion of CPR and CPI course within 90days of employment

Experience: Three (3) years of related experience, with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

This position is Tuesday-Saturday.
