Position Description

The Associate Director of Provider Engagement and Data Exchange is responsible for creating and executing plans to improve Medicare coding accuracy, provider data exchange (especially regarding HEDIS supplemental data), and provider engagement through value-based contracting strategies. This includes: document training programs for PCPs, managing effective deployment of Optum programs, and improving the member engagement with attributed providers. 
The candidate will also be a trusted resource for M&R Health Plan CEOs on coding accuracy improvement, support the product planning process, and create region-level, long range business strategies.  This position will report directly to the VP of Medicare Strategy and Execution for M&R Central Region.
  • Collaborate with all Health Plan CEOs and Executive Directors to support region-wide tactical plans to improve coding accuracy.
  • Develop and deploy appropriate supporting tools, reports and performance targets / metrics for coding accuracy and physician engagement for each market in the Central Region.
  • Partner with national and regional teams to drive value based contracting design, execution, and evaluate success.
  • Support Health Plan CEOs in product planning process and annual business planning.
  • Build relationships with market leadership, shared service partners, and Optum to achieve all business objectives; seek partnerships with external partners where relevant to drive success toward goals
  • Create strategic roadmap to 2020 to ensure execution on long term business planning objectives.
  • Serves as a key resource on complex and/or critical issues.
  • Reviews work performed by others and provides recommendations for improvement.
  • Alerts Market CEO to progress or obstacles
  • Lead functional or segment teams or projects
  • Develop recommended business solutions through research and analysis of data and business process and implement when appropriate
  • Analyze, review, forecast, and trend complex data
  • Present analysis and interpretation for operational and business review and planning

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required, in business, finance, economics, health or public policy, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in a large, complex and successful health care / managed care organization with demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility and accountability
  • Experience with merging data from disparate sources in large quantities. 
  • Past experience managing databases and writing query language, such as MS Access and SAS/SQL a plus
  • Ability to work in high pace, complex organization
  • Intermediate or above  MS Excel skills
  • Demonstrated financial / analytical skills and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Requirements
  • Master’s degree or above
  • Experience in a Medicare Advantage business
