Job Description
We are currently seeking an Assessment & ReferralClinician to join our talented and caring team! The Assessment & Referral Clinician: Demonstrates leadership in organizing the delivery of patient care in an acute psychiatric setting for patients experiencing a wide range of psychiatric conditions. Provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention for new patients. Assists the accepting physician by providing face-to-face clinical assessments, including the history of presenting illness, family dynamics and supporting psychosocial information. Is the initial contact for referral sources and potential patients. Coordinates the referral and intake process of new patients to the hospital to include insurance pre-certification as appropriate. Documents pertinent information accurately, timely and legibly. Attends mandatory in-services and/or completes required web-based training. Demonstrates respect and tolerance for all patients without regard to age, gender, race, national origin, disability status, religion and/or lifestyle choice (s). Assumes responsibility for professional development and ongoing education. Maintains a professional appearance and attitude. Serve actively and constructively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, supporting the hospital philosophy of care; to ensure the safety and well-being of every patient.
