Established in 1986, the Anchor Hospital campus of Southern Crescent Behavioral Health System is a 122-bed facility accredited by the Joint Commission that specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for Adolescents, Adults and Senior Adults.  Located in College Park, GA, Anchor Hospital serves Mental Health and Substance Abuse patients from all over the Southeast. Patients who come to Anchor Hospital are in crisis, and the road to recovery for behavioral, mental health, and substance abuse patients is a difficult one. The staff at Anchor Hospital serve as compassionate guides who provide for our patients’ clinical needs.

An ARS Counselor is responsible performing all aspects of the hospital’s assessment and referral process, including efficient and effective handling of inquiry calls; knowledge of and communication with referral sources; providing hospital and program information to individuals, agencies, facilities, and professionals; making outside referrals when appropriate; assessing and triaging an individual’s mental health and/or chemical dependency status; making patient safety and level-of-care recommendations to the physicians(s); identifying insurance benefits and pre-certification of patient care; completing all admission requirements; communicating patient safety concerns and pertinent patient information to unit nursing staff; and documenting all necessary information.

Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work, counseling, or marriage/family therapy or Nursing Degree required (with RN obtained).  Minimum of two (2) years experience in the mental health field preferred. License required for this position as an LPC, LCSW, or LMFT or RN.
