Since 1976 Lakeside Behavioral Health System has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and mid-south region. The 345 bed facility is located on a safe and private 37 acre campus in northeast Shelby County and provides comprehensive behavioral health treatment for adults, seniors, adolescents and children. Job Description:

The Needs Assessment Counselor provides telephonic and in-person risk assessment and crisis intervention, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.


Job Requirements:

Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Human Services field is required, license preferred. Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Licensure and registration by Tennessee Board of Nurse Examiners or equivalent as a registered nurse lawfully able to practice in Tennessee.
