We are looking for a Finance leader to join our growing global division and support the overall accounting for the business segment.  UnitedHealthcare Global is the international division of UnitedHealth Group and serves over 4 million customers, principally in Brazil, but also residing in over 125 countries.   We safeguard the health, well-being and productivity of global workforces with a comprehensive range of in-house, health and mobilization capabilities. Clients include multi-national and local businesses, governments, non-US health insurers and travel insurers, reinsurers, individuals and their families.

 

The Assistant Controller (Associate Accounting Director) position will lead a team that supports the full cycle accounting, provides in-depth financial reporting and analysis and ensures best practices and technical accounting compliance requirements.  This position also reviews and synthesizes financial data for the international division by preparing various analytics and metrics for presentation to senior management and external constituencies. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational and technical accounting expertise to ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, Statutory requirements and Company policies, rules, regulation and laws

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets and statements of financial position

  • Oversee the preparation and analysis of internal and external financial reporting ensuring the quality, reliability and timeliness of the reports

  • Act as a liaison with Corporate to assist in all aspects of financial reporting including sales reporting, financial review, processes assistance, etc.

  • Coordinate and supports the Company's strategic and operational planning

  • Summarize findings on the monthly, quarterly and annual reports to senior management, auditors and regulators

  • Assist with budget preparations and monthly budget / actual reporting analyses

  • Resolve high level financial reporting issues

  • Ownership of the internal control environment including annual SOX testing plans. Ability to understand and  document process flows, process narratives and risk based testing results

  • Develop, implement and maintain processes and procedures for accurate and timely analysis of financial data, ensuring best practices

  • Manage the audit process and work with internal and outside auditors regarding accounting and reporting issues.

  • Support various Corporate and UHCG special projects as required

  • Manage an Accounting team including performance reviews, individual development planning and succession planning

  • Establish and drive department goals including cross department transactions, training, process efficiencies, etc.

  • UHCG Accounting integration lead for acquisitions
