Prudential Retirement is seeking an Associate Actuary to perform the review and setting of non-mortality assumptions, consistent with the Company’s policies and standards.

Prudential Retirement is an industry leader in Stable Value, Pension Risk Transfer, Structured Settlements, and Full Service businesses. The Associate Actuary will be responsible for reviewing and recommending assumptions for Pricing, Statutory and GAAP valuation, and AAT. The position is also involved in the ongoing development and production of insurance risk analytics. The position provides significant exposure to senior management.

Primary job responsibilities include:
•Conduct experience studies for non-mortality assumptions across all Retirement products
•Partner with Finance and the Business Unit in the development of unit costs for use in pricing and valuation
•Recommend assumptions (excluding mortality) for use in Statutory and GAAP valuations, AAT, and pricing for all Retirement products
•Establish assumptions for new product development
•Guide assumption recommendations through the governance and approval process including presentation to senior management
•Ensure that experience studies, assumption documentation and approvals are conducted in compliance with Company policies and standards
•Participate in enterprise-wide assumption groups in order to share and develop best practices
•Assist in the ongoing development and production of a risk analytics package that can be used by senior management to make informed risk management decisions

•Bachelor’s Degree required
•ASA or near-ASA preferred
•Four plus years of actuarial experience
•Assumption setting and experience studies background a plus.
•Experience with retirement products (or similar)
•Excellent communication, presentation skills and documentation skills
•Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
•Highly motivated and creative problem solver with strong quantitative and analytical skills
•Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy of results
•Work independently and also have strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with business partners
