Job Description

This position is in Retirement Actuarial’s Valuation team.

Financial Reporting & Valuation
•Lead a small team to manage the execution of the monthly actual and quarterly forecast processes for GAAP, STAT, and tax valuation for the Retirement business
•Provide valuation and reporting data for annual cash flow testing and capital requirements across Retirement products
•Lead the implementation of new assumptions in the annual assumption update process and provide system and data support to Assumptions development teams
•Support the onboarding of new business contracts into the actuarial valuation systems
•Collaborate with members across Valuation, Modeling & Infrastructure, Pricing and Corporate Oversight teams to develop & enhance existing processes and analytics for GAAP, STAT, and tax valuation
•Maintain a document repository to evidence adherence to proper procedures, for audiences including management, auditors, and regulators.
•Serve as a point person for supporting control-related audit procedures.
•Support adhoc projects and processes for new products
•Perform adhoc regression testing of the financial reporting system
•Be an active participant in Prudential’s actuarial community


 •Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other highly quantitative field
•4 years of business/actuarial experience, Retirement products is a plus
•Ability to lead a process and be accountable for its execution, timeline, and deliverables
•Superior technical skills and ability to understand complex quantitative concepts and models
•Excels in collaborating with others of different strengths and backgrounds, as part of a varied but cohesive team
•Highly motivated, innovative, and creative problem solver and conceptual thinker who is able to work independently or in a team
•Strong command of Microsoft Excel, VBA, and SQL
•ASA or near-ASA is preferred
•Experience with Polysystems or similar Actuarial systems is preferred
