The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Associate Application Analyst – Laboratory.

 

The Associate Application Analyst - Laboratory will support the implementation of UHS clinical and business applications at our Acute Care hospitals.  Examines the clinical and business workflows and assists in conversion activities related to changing to the new application modules from Cerner.  Provides end user support, application troubleshooting and application / technical configuration.  Post-conversion, assists in the resolution of system issues (break/fix, maintenance or enhancement) as requested by the facility or assigned by the UHS Customer Support Center.  Implements changes to existing applications as directed by management.  Meets deadlines and ensures continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience with other members of team. 

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Applies knowledge of the clinical and business workflows of assigned areas which may include Registration, Scheduling, Emergency Department, Nursing, Physicians, Lab, Pharmacy, Surgery, Operating Rooms, Medical Records, Patient Accounting, Materials Management or other areas.
  • Demonstrates basic analytical problem solving
  • Assists in performing routine system maintenance and builds.
  • Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
  • Researches and resolves Customer Support Center Tickets including major application upgrades.
  • Adheres to UHS Service Level and Change Management Policies.
  • Performs system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle.
  • Performs Q/A on application functionality.
  • Assists with the training of users in operating procedures for application.
  • Provides on-call support as scheduled.
  • Establishes and maintains regular communications with user community.
Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • This position requires a college degree in a Business, Technology or Clinically (chemistry, biology, etc.) related field.  No working experience is required, up to one year of experience would enhance the skills and abilities necessary to perform this job.
  • Ability to quickly orient, understand and apply system application implementation, enhancement, support methods and user clinical or business practices and workflows, concepts and terminology to support applications.
  • Ability to perform computer systems analysis and programming techniques and procedures, including: consulting with users to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications; design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, coding, debugging, or modification of computer systems or programs based on and related to user design specifications.  

 

Travel Requirements: 5 – 20% domestic US travel (depending on projects and Go Lives).
