It's all part of our unwavering commitment to creating opportunities and bringing value to customers and communities around the world.Job Title:Associate Buyer- RX MerchandisingEmployment Type:Full TimeCity:BENTONVILLEState:ARPosition Description:Provides input to senior buyer or merchandising manager/vice president on developing and managing subcategory financials by analyzing past performance, trends, and strategy; collaborating with senior buyer to set subcategory financial targets; reviewing annual, monthly, weekly, and daily financial projections against actual results; requesting and reviewing analysis and reports from suppliers and

cross-functional peers; identifying and addressing the root cause of deviations from projected plans; and reporting business risks and opportunities to senior buyer and senior management.

Supports development and management of brand and generic launches in the subcategory assigned as well as managing the generic launch schedule for the department with our sourcing team and cross-functional teams, setting retails, operations communication, marketing and managing financials. Supports the sourcing team with item creation and maintenance, ensuring compliance for product safety team on new items.

Coordinates and leads cross-functional meetings by aligning subcategory team workload with strategies; reviewing purchase plans; ensuring timely execution of business plans at the store level; reviewing and analyzing inputs and reports from team members; identifying merchandising issues; coordinating and leading team meetings to address merchandising issues and develop potential solutions; addressing unexpected or unusual circumstances (for example, product recall, natural disasters) that impact product availability or demand; resolving remedy tickets, customer requests and store calls; and escalating issues to senior management as required.

Buys products for a subcategory by establishing and maintaining supplier relationships; managing the brand and generic suppliers for the subcategory; managing the items required to meet customer needs; working with the sourcing team to determine supplier cost on the generics and working directly with the brand on terms of the item, quality, and delivery terms (updating agreements, tracking and compliance) under guidance of senior buyer; leading meetings with suppliers and cross-functional peers; partnering with senior buyer in addressing escalated issues related to replenishment and other support areas (for example, delivery, quality); and working with suppliers to resolve issues. Managing supplier paybacks for the department as well as any day to day supplier admin.

Supports the senior buyer with execution and maintenance of subcategory inventory plans by reviewing open-to-buy developments, updates, and recommendations; providing inputs and insights to guide merchandise flow and replenishment decisions at the store level, addressing inventory flow and management decisions that deviate from established plans; partnering with Merchandise Operations to execute key seasonal business flow plans (for example: cough cold flu, allergy). Supports multiple buyers on coops for price protections, stocking allowances and applicable rebates that are collected.

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door PoAdditional Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Business or related field OR 1 year experience in buying, financial planning, replenishment management, retail operations management, or related field.

1 year's experience negotiating (for example, cost, product quality, delivery terms) in a merchandising field.

1 year's experience leading a cross-functional team.
