The focus of this position is to take action to invoices so they worked correctly and either re - billed to the insurance or billed to the patient. This position is located in a production environment with strict metrics and quality control measures.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Analyze accounts to resolve patient inquires.
  • Answer patient questions / concerns by either phone or by mail.
  • Update any changes in demographic information based on written requests from patients.
  • Re - file outstanding balances using updated insurance information.
  • Resolve open balances by analyzing insurance / patient correspondence and making effective decisions based on policies and procedures.
  • Review all account and databases to determine proper mailing address for return mail.
  • Change financial responsibility to the party on the account.
  • Maintain awareness of managed care and billing issues when resolving pending insurance responsibilities.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Recent Insurance Follow Up experience within the Healthcare Industry (within the last year; recent follow up on denied and un - responded claims)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Background in a Medical / Healthcare setting
  • Direct healthcare data collection experience
Physical Requirements and Work Environment: 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. 
  • The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand. 
  • The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
