Description An Associate Director position is available for a highly motivated and creative candidate with a strong background in novel tumor targeting technologies and therapeutic drug development to join Pfizer's Oncology R&D Group. Perspective applicants should have extensive cancer biology training and drug discovery experience. Applicants should have the ability to translate emerging science into novel anti-cancer agents in core areas of focus for Pfizer's drug discovery pipeline including oncogenic drivers, cell signaling mechanisms, tumor immunology and mechanisms of resistance. The ideal applicant will have considerable experience in leading and designing clinically relevant pharmacology studies for oncology, as well as possess experience in management and mentorship roles. The colleague will direct a team that performs in vitro studies and works closely with the In Vivo Pharmacology group to design and execute in vivo studies. The colleague will contribute to efforts across the organization to discover and develop the next generation of tumor-targeted technology platforms, including Nanoparticles, Antibody Conjugates and/or Biotherapeutics. The colleague will formulate strategy, establish collaborations, coordinate program activities, and drive the team to advance pipeline programs.



**Role Responsibilities:**



+ Design experiments and interpret results for the characterization of nanoparticle and biotherapeutic pharmacology in clinically relevant tumor models (in vitro and in vivo).

+ Train scientists to conduct nanoparticle and biotherapeutic pharmacology studies, as needed.

+ Introduce new technologies for nanoparticle and antibody pharmacology studies, as needed.

+ Build infrastructure of clinically relevant tumor models for tumor-targeted pharmacology.

+ Contribute to the strategy and vision of Pfizer's targeted therapeutics and immune-oncology pipeline.

+ Manage relationships within the department and with other departments to expedite the progress of pipeline programs and technology development initiatives.

+ Present to Pfizer governance committees, and contribute to and/or supervise regulatory filings.

+ Conduct and supervise research that leads to publication in peer-reviewed journals and presentation of data at external meetings.



**Qualifications:**

• Ph.D. degree plus postdoctoral research and at least 8-10 years pharmaceutical industry experience in Pharmacology or related field

• Solid background in tumor biology and immunology

• Solid background in antibody-based technologies and nanoparticle pharmacology (as opposed to nanoparticle formulation etc.)

• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral

• Proven capacity for innovative thinking

• Experience in management and leadership roles
