Description:

The Associate Manager of Consumer Insights and Strategy on the Hydration business for Gatorade reports to the Director of Consumer Insights and Strategy in the Gatorade division, located in Chicago.

The Associate Manager will support the Gatorade hydration business and will be responsible for representing the Gatorade consumer and influencer (e.g. coaches and athletic trainers) in business planning and tactical development. He or she will support base business brand strategy, in-market product tracking, commercialization of new Gatorade hydration innovation and lead learning across our influencer and youth efforts.

A combination of quantitative and qualitative storytelling (including syndicated sales data and consumption/equity tracking) will be especially critical to this role. In addition, the successful candidate will synthesize consumer feedback, influencer (coach/athletic trainer) feedback, athlete needs and more to provide a holistic understanding of in-market product and communication performance. Cross-functional collaboration will be critical as the candidate will work cross-functionally with brand marketing, marketing communications, influencer and youth activation teams, R&D and other cross-functional partners.
The successful candidate will have a background in consumer insights and an in-depth understanding of syndicated sales data.

Key Accountabilities of the role include:

  • Working closely with the brand team to provide thought leadership and set brand strategy for future direction of hydration portfolio
  • Assessing ongoing base business performance, inclusive of syndicated sales and panel data, primary consumer and influencer research, equity trends and ad hoc research issues
  • Consumer insights and strategy for close-in new product commercialization, collaborating with cross-functional partners in brand, R&D and supply chain
  • Subject matter and cross-functional expert on high school and elite coach and athletic trainer landscape to guide tactical planning and ongoing strategy for athlete development


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4+ years of relevant marketing research experience in a consumer packaged goods company
  • Significant experience with syndicated sales data (IRI/Nielsen experience)
  • 4+ years ongoing quantitative tracking experience (brand health tracking, consumption tracking, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with ability to translate multiple data sources into actionable insights
