Prudential’s Beneficiary Services, Group Claim Operation is seeking and experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as an Associate Manager. The Associate Manager, who will have some technical responsibilities, will be leading a team of claim professionals, and has accountability for the overall performance and administration of the team. This role will be responsible for coaching and developing associates, ensuring excellent customer service through a focus on performance elevation and workflow management. The successful candidate will partner with their peer leadership group and contribute to the department’s overall success by engaging in continuous improvement. 


This position will be filled in the Roseland, NJ location.



  • Responsible for operational management of the team, including hiring and performance management.  Able to coach and develop direct reports by way of performance metrics, observations and developmental discussions
  • Monitor team and individual results, identify gaps, create short and long term action plans that result in performance elevation
  • Facilitate team meetings; communicate key business messages to the team
  • Actively Involved in the determination and authorization of Life Claims
  • Provide guidance regarding general claim policy, contracts, and terminology
  • Interact with internal and external customers to ensure claims are brought to an appropriate outcome.
  • Manage or participate in special projects as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of Life or Disability Claims is preferred
  • Proven ability to drive initiatives and effectively meet/exceed individual and team goals
  • Demonstrated leadership skills. Prior supervisory experience, coaching and career/talent development preferred
  • Effective partnering and interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt to the needs and changes within the workplace
  • Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement, with strong problem solving and issues resolution skills
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and time management skills required
  • Proven critical thinking, decision making and analytical skills
  • Evidence of ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while working under time constraints.
  • Detail oriented
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
