In a dynamic world of pharmaceutical manufacture, the **ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR:**

**NEW ZEALAND** is key to the delivery of quality medicines to patients in New Zealand.

Reporting to the Medical Director for Pfizer Essential Health in Australia, your key responsibilities will include:

+ Leadership of the Medical Affairs function of the Pfizer Essential Health business in New Zealand.

+ Developing, driving and implementing product medical strategy and aligning these with commercial and other functions.

+ Facilitation of interaction between key opinion leaders (KOLs), academia and Pfizer, ensuring adherence to the Company's high standards of conduct in all its dealings with the medical profession.

+ Advising and providing medical input and review to various medical department groups which support Pfizer's products, including medical information, medical compliance, medical operations, drug safety and regulatory.

+ Supporting all aspects of a product's appropriate positioning and usage in accordance with current scientific evidence in and within the priciples of evidence-based medicine (EBM) and the quality use of medicines (QUM).

+ Ensuring that all activities are actioned in a fully compliant manner in accordance with internal Pfizer regulations and standard operating procudriues, as well as all relevant external regulations and industry codes, including the Medicines New Zealand (MNZ) Code of Practice and the requirements of the New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority (Medsafe).

+ Appropriate medical support to ensure patient access to key therapeutic options, including supporting submissions to PHARMAC for drug reimbursment and tender listings.

For this position role the successful applicant will.....

+ Have New Zealand residency and entitlement to work in NZ.

+ Have an appropriate medical qualification (Medical degree preferable, senior allied health or medical scientific degree acceptable).

+ Have a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical or related experience.

+ Have knowledge of the therapeutic areas and current promoted brands within the Pfizer portfolio in New Zealand.

+ Preferably have previous employment experience in a DHB as a medical practitioner.
