The Corporate IS Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Associate Software Engineer-Reporting.

The Associate Software Engineer maintains the rules and reporting applications under the direction of Department Supervisor and Senior Staff.  Works aspects of projects assigned from preparing rule and report guidelines and requirements through final implementation.  Coordinates with supervisor modifications to existing rules and reports that will effectively accomplish desired objectives.    Provides technical support and project collaboration with UHS entities as needed.  Coordinates work assignments given in order to meet deadlines and ensure continued progress toward assignment completion. Shares experience and learned knowledge with other members of team.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Regularly meets with supervisor and team to discuss develop/modify rule and report specifications.
  • Coordinates solutions for rule and reporting applications and prepares the appropriate documentation.
  • Outlines rule and report specifications for UHS business needs and coordinates validation of data sources.
  • Understands education material and provides assistance with training to UHS staff for reporting applications.
  • Interacts with Leadership on implementation of new enhancements on rule and reporting applications.
  • Coordinates development of test data, system testing and documentation for all phases of the application development life cycle.
  • Troubleshoots and opens implementation-related Customer Support Center Tickets.
  • Adheres to appropriate UHS Project Management standards.
  • Ensures strict adherence to work plans, reporting all serious deviations to Supervisor.

Job Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Experience and /or technical coursework at the collegiate level in Computer Science or Information Systems relating to relational databases and programming languages, software development lifecycle, source control principles and project management concepts.
  • Knowledge of system application implementation, enhancement and support methods and practices.
  • Problem solving skills and basic knowledge of business management concepts.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems analysis and programming techniques. 
  • Developing skills in: consulting with users to determine software or system application functionality; coordinating design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of system applications.
  • Understanding of IS standards and quality methods and metrics. 
  • Knowledge of project management methods.
  • General familiarity of user business practices, concepts and terminology sufficient to support the applications. 
  • Language proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal fluency. 
  • Understanding of SQL, software development lifecycle, dashboard development, project management, rule and report development, and rule and report validation methods. 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
  • Business Objects WEBI/InfoView experience.
  • Discern Expert/Rules experience.
  • Discern Visual Developer/CCL experience

 

Travel Requirements: Minimal – 5-25% domestic US travel at times (depending on projects).
