Description:

The Innovation Team within Prudential’s Individual Life Insurance division is looking for talented individuals to help transform the life insurance industry. If you enjoy the challenge of working in a fast paced, dynamic environment and putting your creative juices to work, then this is the place for you. Our group works closely with our business teams to develop working prototypes, perform digital tests, and gain insight into consumer needs and preferences using analytics. Candidates should possess the ability to research, understand, and empathize with target consumer groups while displaying technical skills in the areas of web analytics, API development, microservices, and an understanding of SQL and noSQL database technologies.  This job requires an emphasis on innovative and creative thinking and the ability to react quickly to analysis by following an iterative test & learn approach. The individual will be uniquely positioned to be on the forefront of implementing emerging consumer products and web/mobile designs within the organization.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development work with mainstream and emerging technologies (e.g. AngularJS, MongoDB, blockchain, Google Analytics, heatmapping tools, etc.)
  • Identify opportunities for web and mobile based tests to address business needs
  • Establish and partner with UI team to perform layout and page flow
  • Design digital test plans to test new consumer products
  • Work closely with business partners to understand needs and transform them into testable components
  • Communicate and summarize findings from digital tests through stakeholder presentations
  • Occasional travel to multiple locations in New Jersey and New York City

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience required
  • Ability to understand conceptual ideas from both a business and systems perspective and turn that into a systematic solution that is forward thinking, flexible, and strategic in nature
  • Strong design skills and excellent problem solving techniques
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Ability to influence others and help groups achieve consensus
  • Passion for learning new technologies
  • Understanding of UI/UX design
  • Working knowledge of API development, MongoDB or similar NoSQL database, and/or experience working with analytics packages
  • Experience creating website wireframes/mockups
  • Ability to empathize with test subjects to determine consumer interest and intent, then translate into insights
  • Ability or interest in creating user personas and journeys; Conceptualizing abstract ideas and concepts
  • Working knowledge of software development is a plus
