We continue to grow and expand our services to meet the demands of the community for inpatient psychiatric beds, and currently are recruiting for a full-time HIM Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supports the Health Information Services Department through a variety of clerical, technical, and related support services.
• Monitors completeness of patient records to satisfy the standards established by the funding sources and regulatory and accreditation bodies.
• Maintains patient confidentiality by complying with State/Federal and HIPAA laws.

Job Requirements

:

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education/Training: 

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

One year experience in Health Information Services preferred. 

Licensure/Certification:

None

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Skills in preparing and maintaining appropriate medical record documentation.
  • Proficient in filing, record-keeping, and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledgeable of general medical terminology and psychiatric terms and diagnosis.
  • Must demonstrate a professional and personal demeanor with customers on a daily basis.
  • Knowledge of State/Federal and HIPAA laws pertaining to patient confidentiality and release of protected health information.
