Prudential is looking for a Back-end / Service Software Engineer who has passion for new technologies, understands responsive web development, engineer solutions and turn concepts to life. Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product management, marketing, designers, and technology and architecture teams
  • Work in a rapid pace environment with ability to juggle multiple projects
  • Enjoy learning about our customers and our businesses

  • BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field
  • Hands-on full stack developer with 7 years of development experience
  • Must have hands on design and development experience in Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, JUnit and front end development experience including HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3, Sass/Scss, AngularJS, jQuery and Bootstrap
  • Strong integration background required. Experience with REST, JSON and APIs is required. Familiarity with Microservices architecture is highly desirable
  • Experience with as many of the following is highly desirable: JBoss/Tomocat/ Spring Boot, Node.js, Websphere Application Server, Websphere Portal, WebMethods, XML,XSLT, XPath, Web Services, SOA, SOAP, Oracle, DB2, MongoDB, SQL and query performance tuning
  • Experience with code management and continuous integration techniques and tools such as CodeDeploy, Maven, Gradle, ANT, SVN, Artifactory, SonarQube, Selenium, SOAP UI, Jenkins, Bower, NPM, Grunt, Unit Testing (Karma, Protractor) etc. is highly desirable
  • Experience with monitoring and logging techniques and tools such as CloudWatch, Nagios, Splunk and Dynatrace etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing, developing and delivering to production highly available and highly responsive solutions at scale
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot issues in production including root cause analysis
  • Familiarity with security concepts (authentication , authorization, encryption, digital signature), SSL, web service proxies, firewalls and multi protocol gateways
  • Familiarity with Customer Service workflows and technologies are highly desirable
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast paced matrix environment
  • A conceptual thinker who can articulate and execute his/her vision from concept to production
  • A TECHIE that lives for emerging technologies and is hungry to keep learning
  • An entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to collaborate in a corporate environment
  • Enjoys working hard and appreciates a good laugh
