Ranging from which assets and new business ventures to invest in; to how we can communicate most effectively with our patients and healthcare professionals; to what are the industry and competitive signals we should look at in a changing health landscape; BA serves as the compass and decision support for the enterprise.

The Pfizer Innovative Health Emerging Markets (PIH EM) Director, Team Leader position offers an exciting opportunity to play a lead role in the growth of the innovative emerging markets business. Although there are many more patients in EM compared with developed markets, they face greater challenges to accessing innovative medicines. The TL will lead a team to help uncover the opportunities to help bring Pfizer innovative medicines to these patients and to the population.

The BAI PIH EM Lead is the leader of a team of BAI PIH EM colleagues who are physically located in EM regions. The TL and regionally-based colleagues will partner with global EM and regionally-based commercial EM teams. He / she is the strategic client partner to the PIH EM President and the Chief Marketing Officer for EM. In this role, the TL will be an innovative thought partner to these commercial leaders and their respective LTs, bringing business solutions through core analytic skills, leading work through the team and collaborations across BA. He / she will evaluate opportunities and work to progress key strategies into action plans and represent BA/BAI insights to EM leadership.


+ Be the BAI Client Partner to the PIH EM President, EM Chief Marketing Officer and respective leadership teams

+ Proficient in analytics and able to represent BA/BAI services and align BA/BAI priorities to leadership priorities and deliver

+ Lead the creation of integrated insights plans and deliverables across BA country-based teams and multiple functions and disciplines of BAI; ensure truly seamless delivery of complicated, multi-faceted analyses and products to clients

+ Ensure timely deliverables to maximize business value for Pfizer through appropriate demand management and prioritization with flexible deployment of resources.

+ Ensure solid financial discipline by not only controlling BAI budget but also influencing BU budget related to data analytics and insights.

+ Lead through the team in the delivery of BA/BAI services and drive analytics-based recommendations to actions:

+ Healthcare landscape and customer insights

+ Optimize promotional messaging, digital and allocation of resources

+ Execute and innovate approaches to product forecasts in collaboration BA COEs

+ Measure performance of the products and the portfolio and facilitate discussions among commercial teams to form planned actions based on performance outcomes

+ Lead team development in consulting, technical and leadership capabilities; proactively seek out and market team members for opportunities that will advance their personal development in line with their IDP's



+ B.A. / B.S. required; advanced degree in relevant discipline desirable (e.g. MA/MS/MBA/Ph.D.); quantitative background preferred


+ 8+ years experience in business analytics function, country strategy and/or strategic consulting

+ 12+ years of work experience

+ Experience leading and achieving results through matrixed organizations

+ Track record of thought partnership with commercial leadership to advance organizational priorities and goals

**Technical skills and competencies:**

+ Strong strategic, conceptual and analytical thinking combined with the ability to lead and build relationships with key stakeholders to quickly understand business strategies, identify analytics needs and build effective solutions

+ Experience and comfort communicating persuasively and clearly with Senior commercial (Category President level)

+ Ability to lead the development analytically-derived insights and be a thought partnership to regional-president leaders

+ Capable of marshaling BAI resources to evaluate and resolve the most challenging, strategic client issues and technical solutions

+ A critical thought leader in business analytics, proactively identifying business challenges and opportunities and the analyses required to address them

+ Excel at representing advanced analytic concepts in a targeted, interpretable manner for business implementation

+ Significant people leadership competency; ability to manage across remote and matrix team members, internal and external to BA/BAI

+ Strong interpersonal skills as well as excellent verbal communication and presentation skills

+ Comfortable with ambiguity, and able to act decisively in tight timelines; strategic and analytical agility

+ Ability to communicate complex information, concepts and market understanding across multiple levels of the organization.

+ Proven ability to recognize interactions between insights, identify trends, innovate, proactively recognize future business needs and link them to current and future analytics.
