Position Summary:

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH SPECIALIST -FULL TIME

Centennial Peaks Hospital is expanding to 104 beds, we are located in beautiful Louisville, CO. We are dedicated to providing a full range of mental health and chemical dependency services to the state of Colorado. We strive to enhance the mental health, safety and well-being of our patients, their families, and the community at large by providing ethical, compassionate, medically and psychologically integrated inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment for psychiatric and addiction disorders. The ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast paced environment is critical.  The Behavioral Health Specialist creates a safe environment for patients, saves lives when necessary, provides hope, empowers patients, and teaches new tools for coping to patients. The Behavioral Health Specialist provides direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. Primary responsibilities include the provision of a safe and therapeutic milieu, crisis intervention, individual/family education groups and activities of daily living.

We currently have evening and night shifts available.  You must be able to work every other weekend.

Requirements

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied patient populations.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; or high school diploma.

Experience: One-year experience working with a psychiatric patient population preferred.

Licensure/Certification: N/A

Knowledge: knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors, and CPR training required.
