Bi-Lingual Patient Care Coordinator- Green Valley, AZ (749829)

Position Description

Arizona Medical Services, part of Optum Care, is a group of family practice physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants consisting of 16 providers, with 2 outpatient clinics in Tucson, 1 outpatient clinic is Green Valley, and an inpatient Post Acute Care team.  Arizona Medical Services offers patients compassion, innovation, and quality care in Tucson and Green Valley. 
Green Valley Family Practice, a part of Arizona Medical Services, is growing and has an opening in the front office checking out patients and assisting with medical records and patient referrals.  The right candidate will be able to work as a team player assisting coworkers to make sure the patient receives compassionate quality healthcare and an exceptional patient experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check out patients
  • Manage the patients’ expectations about the visit and ensure that the visit and referral process are understood
  • Collect appropriate payments and document
  • Schedule appointments as necessary
  • Answer telephones and take messages or route incoming calls as per policy and document all calls and messages appropriately according to policy
  • Work with back office staff to ensure smooth patient flow
  • Communicate with clinical personnel about service issues and complaints
  • Preload/scanning papers documents into Allscripts EMR
  • Pull and file paper charts during the EMR transition
  • Assist with completing patient referrals
  • Assist coworkers and team members with duties when requested to include but not limited to, floating to other areas
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Bilingual English-Spanish 
  • 1+ years of customer service experience in healthcare setting
