POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of the Mundo organization, the Director of Content is responsible for implementing a comprehensive approach to content that supports the Portfolio strategy and direction and the evolving needs of its local and national audiences. The successful candidate will be someone who can lead our news teams across the country and be an integral part of the organization’s leadership team.  You will need to be:
  • Passionate about engaging and listening to customers.

  • Able to manage a multi-platform team, ensuring excellence on every platform
  • Able to motivate a team who can inspire creativity and manage change. 
  • Able to motivate teams of reporters in cities across the US, remotely

  • Have a strong understanding of digital technology (websites, tablets, etc.) and the changing business environment for media. 
  • Strong communication skills and managerial courage.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee  editorial content for all products and platforms related to the Mundo Hispanico portfolio
  • Understands and acts on the strategic and financial goals of the company.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive approach to content that supports Mundo’s and the digital verticals strategic vision and evolving needs of its audiences.
  • Use consumer research and dashboards to inform strategic decision-making with the ability to implement in an appropriate manner.
  • Ensures excellence on all platforms, making sure we are executing on Cox best practices
  • Create and continually refine content work flow to be sufficiently nimble to adjust to changing best practices and platforms.
  • Continues to evolve the content team to better compete in a multi-platform/multi-screen work.
  • Lead the collaboration between Mundo and all other CMG properties to ensure Mundo is providing the highest level of content to audiences in various cities across the US.

  • Mundo Atlanta Editor
  • Mundo National Editor
  • Video Strategy Manager

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak both English and Spanish fluently.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience managing, mentoring and coaching teams.
  • Expert knowledge of journalistic practices (either Print or newsroom)
  • Solid business acumen, with understanding of all content platforms (ability to provide written samples )
  • Motivates employees to ensure excellent individual and team performance.
  • Proven track record with developing and implementing new process as well as building a collaborative environment and making innovative contributions.
  • Flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm.
  • Must be innovative and a risk taker.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities.
  • Proven ability to set, manage, and meet deadlines, to work under pressure, and to successfully lead a team within changing conditions.
