**ROLE SUMMARY**



We are seeking an experienced biologist or immunologist interested in the development of novel targets and hypotheses in the context of external research collaborations. A successful candidate will be a scientist skilled in biological research and drug development, having advanced knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and/or biochemistry, self-motivated and able to work both independently and contribute to the success of a team.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**







+ Apply advanced scientific and technical expertise to drug discovery programs in order to identify and advance new drug candidates



+ Conceptualize, design and execute experiments



+ Independently design and conduct molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays associated with diverse disease areas to characterize drug targets / molecular pathways and evaluate drug candidates.



+ Rigorously collect, interpret and present data.



+ Maintain awareness of scientific / technical advances and incorporate into work as appropriate, author manuscripts and attend scientific meetings as needed







Candidate will collaborate closely with scientists across CTI sites, with Pfizer research units, and with academic partners to ensure project goals, deliverables and timelines are met. The candidate will embrace and embody the entrepreneurial spirit and biotech-like culture and values of CTI and contribute to an exciting, collaborative, productive, and scientifically rigorous working environment.







**QUALIFICATIONS**







+ PhD with 2 years post-doctoral experience and a successful track record of scientific achievement as evidenced by publications / presentations, OR



+ BS/MS in a biology field and 8+ years' experience conducting laboratory research in an industry setting.



+ Strong technical expertise protein biochemistry and molecular biology, plus recent experience in one or more of: primary cell culture and assay, flow cytometric analysis, ELISA development, real-time PCR, high-content imaging, HTRF assay.



+ Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability / interest in collaborating with scientists from diverse disciplines (chemistry, modeling & simulation, safety assessment, etc.) and research institutions.
