Main Purpose: Generate new external revenue streams. Execute customer development action plans to help support generation of new Intermodal business. Develop and maintain a prospect pipeline. Develop and maintain a highly effective business relationship with new and existing customers along with long term strategy. Manage, develop, and hold accountable a team of intermodal ops associates that manage the day to day operation.


  • Maintain an active prospect pipeline
  • Attainment of annual Gross Revenue goal
  • Daily BD operations leadership to help team deliver 2017 revenue goals.
  • Customer/IM provider escalation point - proactive resolution of customer/carrier complaints
  • Support Coaching and development of sales acumen for Account Managers

  • Significant external interaction with new and
    existing customers (80%)
  • Includes customers from all business sectors
    • Consumer packaged goods
    • Retail goods & services
    • Raw materials / manufacturing
    • Private sector (gov't)
  • Intermodal interactions (20%)
    • Operations
    • IM provider growth
    • Finance / Accounting

Key Skills / Experiences:

  • Effective delivery of formal sales presentations to prospective clients.
  • 5 Years Intermodal Transportation Sales experience.
  • Effective communicator that can articulate a
    concise sales pitch that entices a prospective
  • Savvy transportation professional that can quickly
    understand a customers business model, needs,
    and tailor a solution
  • Multi-level negotiation skills
  • Ability to coach and lead others
  • Strong grasp of pricing strategy
  • Ability to accurately analyze pricing data
  • Bachelors degree in business administration,
    logistics, management or related field
