Job Description

Brooke Glen Behavioral Hospital (BGBH), a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is located on an 11-acre campus in picturesque Fort Washington, Pa., a small suburban town of Philadelphia. Our 146-bed facility provides a safe and comfortable environment for patients suffering from mental illness and behavioral disorders. At Brooke Glen, we provide care for the person, not just the illness.

Join us on March 26th from 10:00am to 12:00pm, and 1:00pm to 3:00pm
We are located at 7170 Lafayette Avenue in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania

Registered Nurse Positions: Full-time 3:00pm-11:30pm, Part-time 7:00am-3:30pm, & PRN/Per Diem

  • Delegates, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with healthcare team members
  • Participates in treatment team meetings
  • Supervises Mental Health Technicians
  • Dispenses medications
  • Acts as Charge Nurse on unit
  • Practices in accordance with the nursing practice standards of care and within the scope of the nursing license

Mental Health Technicians: Full-time 3:00pm-11:30pm & Full-time 11:00pm-3:30pm

  • Active part of the psychiatric treatment team
  • Provides continuous patient care, supervision, interactions, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from adolescents to adults
  • Checks and documents every patient at least every 15 minutes 
  • Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse
  • Conducts groups with patients
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living

Call Specialist: PRN/Per diem

  • Works in the Assessment & Referral Department
  • Coordinates admission functions as directed by the Director of Assessment & Referral
  • Provides crisis intervention services to potential patients by way of gathering telephonic information and scheduling no charge assessments
  • Collects data from inquiry calls, assessments, etc. and inputs this data into the health management system in a timely manner
  • Assists in monitoring patients, including every 15 minute checks, until they are ready to be brought to the units

Job Requirements

Registered Nurse Job Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: Experience as a registered nurse
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the PA State Board of Nursing

Mental Health Technician Job Requirements:

High school diploma or GED PLUS 12 behavioral health college credits from an accredited college or university AND two (2) years of related experience with knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques, understanding of mental illness and inpatient hospital experience preferred.


Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in an area of Human Services such as Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Recreational/Allied Therapy, or other appropriate therapeutic discipline PLUS one (1) year of experience or internship in a Human Services position.

Call Specialist Job Requirements:

High school diploma required with minimum of 12 college credits, or bachelors degree preferred with experience in mental health.
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting with direct experience in call management and customer relations.
