Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE - The primary purpose of this analyst position is to support, train, troubleshoot, and assist the Merchandising Organization at The Home Depot. The duties of this associate will include determining requirements of new systems for merchandising applications, working with IT on system defects, and identifying new enhancements. System testing, creating training materials, conducting training classes for users is also required. This includes supporting the customers, resolving user problems, and training the end-users. There is also a requirement for after-hours assistance to emergency related data issues on a rotating basis.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Maintains, upgrades and supports exisiting systems to ensure operational stability for user groups Identifies new and existing system requirements and installs the necessary hardware and equipment to meet the requirements Negotiates with vendors to ensure that all system requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner Keeps up to date on all innovations and changes to Home Depot systems to ensure having the appropriate tools and training to provide quality support Provides end-user training on system to maximize operator efficiency and increase speed and accuracy of customer service Provides customer support by answering end-user questions and maintaining a presence at help desk or other customer point of contact May select, develop, and motivate assigned staff Training, teaching and mentoring

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -

EDUCATION REQUIRED - The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 3

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS - Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
HD Merchandising experience is a plus.
Knowledge of MS Office Applications
Knowledge of Merchlink System
Problem solving and analytical skills

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
-Knowledge of MS Office and Lotus notes
-Functional and/or business knowledge of assigned user groups
-Technical knowledge which may include experience with Basic, MVS, and UNIX as well as data connectivity
-Problem solving and general analytical skills Subject Matter expertise in a functional area
