Business Development Manager – Security/Managed Services

      What You’ll Do

In this business development role in Cisco's Global Security Services you will drive the development, growth and expansion of Cisco AS Security Services in targeted America’s Geo’s and industry verticals. Given your industry knowledge, you will identify, gather requirements, and qualify key prospects for Security Services.  You will position the Services portfolio of solutions to Cisco and partner sales teams, GSSO, and service sales. You will provide executive level presentations and deep dives as necessary to provide security services industry leadership.  You will track and manage continuous pipeline visibility of services and solutions for client opportunities and collaborate amongst team members to establish best practices for developing and supporting the sale of Cisco Security services and solutions.

This role as a Security Services Business Development Manager is a key role within the Cisco Services GTM. The position requires an in-depth understanding of Security technologies, competitive conditions,

 

Industry practices, key channel routes to market, market opportunities and customer requirements. As a Business Development Manager, this position will work closely and collaborate with the Cisco Sales organization, the leaders of the Direct Sales team, Cisco Corporate, Business Units, Cisco Services, Partner Sales, other Architecture Sales teams, Marketing, Operations, Cisco Capital, Finance and Cisco's Senior Leadership Team. 

You will work with Security services line management and Services Product Management teams in supporting the services lifecycle requirements ensuring consistent and accurate scoping of client engagements.

The BDM position is a dynamic leadership role requiring strong command of Cisco Security technology, tools, processes and best practices, as well as strong communication, collaboration and financial planning skills to drive success.

     Optimum structure of complex deals

     Maximum the value and optimize delivery scoping to assist the sales process

 

 

     Who You’ll Work With.

You will be an integral part of a Regional Business Development team including Advisory Sales, Security Principal, Delivery Manager and Proposal support team.

The Business Development Manager must have a grasp of strategic business challenges and a high level of comfort working with all customer sizes, partners, internal teams and executive leadership. Abilities as a communicator and mentor, as well as an understanding and vision of the constantly-evolving marketplace are critical to the success of this position. The ability to inspire and create excitement within the sales team, as well as across the entire organization and in the marketplace is a key attribute. This candidate will understand the nuances of selling complex solutions, as well as other new products as Cisco expands in this market. The candidate must be able to balance both short term goals with a longer term vision and have a clear sense for how they will evolve their sales organization to grow and deliver the Cisco value proposition over the next several years to come. Lastly, the potential candidate must possess the highest level of integrity and be able to establish trust and confidence in our employees, partners and customers. 

 

      Who You Are

Applicants should have significant knowledge of Enterprise Networking and Security, a proven leadership track record, and a strong understanding of Direct and Partner led Sales. Recent experience as either a Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect within a Security Company.    

Proven people leader, entrepreneurial and visionary with strong leadership skills in coaching and developing large sales organizations, including experience with demand generation, partner sales enablement, forecasting, business/strategy development, short-term, mid-term, and long-term business planning is essential 
Demonstrated track record for managing significant revenue responsibility and overachieving targets to meet stretch goals 
Strong executive presence and proven track record selling solutions to senior executives 
Ability to build and lead in a matrix-managed team culture. 
Experience in business planning, influencing development of sales and marketing programs, and execution of programs and strategy. 
Strong technical and business knowledge with complementary skills to understand the customers' business drivers and align to Cisco solution essential. Knowledge of Cisco solutions and trends around Security is critical. 
Superior negotiation and multi-tasking skills, ability to lead, review and execute multiple strategic projects with sharp attention to detail. 

Required Skills:

      Our minimum qualifications are:

 

15+ years’ experience delivering Enterprise Networking and Security services

7+ years’ experience in sales support / solution development / BDM role

Strong Cisco routing & switching knowledge and understanding of industry trends

BA/BS required, MBA preferred

Knowledge of Professional Services business

Demonstrated track record of pursuing and managing services engagements of $1M+

Ability to travel (target of 25%)
