Job Description

POSITION CAN BE BASED IN GUATEMALA OR MEXICO

Main Purpose:
  • BT EPMO main purpose is to lead the implementation of total company transformation agenda in order to develop Caricams strategic capabilities to generate competitive advantages and contribute to accelerate profitable and sustainable growth.
Accountabilities:
  • Project portfolio management process definition and continuous improvement
    • Establish relevant portfolio management processes (e.g., change management, risk management, issue management, resource management, and quality management) consistent with the organization's existing processes in order to maintain portfolio viability.
  • Project portfolio management execution:
    • Consolidate one single project portfolio, having strong communication with Program / Project Managers during the AOP process to ensure project information required for ranking & prioritization
    • Elaborate project portfolio roadmap to identify dependencies between projects
    • Design ranking & prioritization criteria and guide the process with Program and Project Managers based on changing functional needs, resource capacity constraints (resourcing strategies to ensure optimum support for projects), risk exposure, and interdependencies
    • Elaborate proposed scenarios for project prioritization
    • Keep communicated to Program / Project Managers about final approval or rejected projects
    • Monitoring & Control to report portfolio performance, to inform decisions that maximize returns across enterprise projects and programs and update changes related to AOP process or Business strategy
  • Generate and ensure metrics / indicators of Portfolio management process
    • Provide portfolio management performance reports in accordance with the portfolio management communication plan in order to support executive decision making
  • Ensures adoption and implementation of project management methodology and terminology oversees project and program management coaching
    • Educate the organization about the portfolio management framework by providing for appropriate training in order to successfully implement portfolio management.

Qualifications/Requirements

Key Skills/Experience Required:

Professional:

  • Seasoned executive with more than 10 years of management experience.
  • At least 10 years of experience in managing major projects or programs.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing project portfolio with more than one running in parallel
  • Program and project management skills for large scale programs
  • Business and industry know how
  • Knowledge of the different project/program management methodologies in the market as well as tools to automate processes.
  • Results oriented

Leadership:
  • Capable to lead multifunctional teams to common objectives.
  • Capable to manage direct and dotted reports based on processes and common objectives.
  • Negotiation and presenting skills.
  • Functional leadership: Searches, analyzes and brings cross industries best practices into the business.

Personality:
  • Leadership and idea seller.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Continuous searcher of opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with others.

Education:
  • Professional / Bachelor degree
  • English: fluent professional.
  • Project Management Professional Certification highly desired
  • Portfolio Management Professional deep knowledge in the PMI standard
  • Program Management Professional Certification desirable
  • Master degree in Business Administration desirable.
