Position Summary:
First Home Care has been providing quality care since 1991. We provide community-based services for children with a history of out-of-home behavioral health treatment. The First Home Care team has developed an integrated continuum of care which includes Therapeutic Foster Care, School-Based Programming, Alternative Day School and Outpatient Counseling. First Home Care has facilities located in Portsmouth, VA, Richmond, VA, Alexandria, VA, Painter, VA, Roanoke, VA, Washington, DC, Clinton, MD and Baltimore, MD.

First Home Care Corporation is comprised of First Home Care (FHC) and Oyster Point Academy. In addition, FHC has a long-standing management agreement with Foundations for Home and Community-a Washington D.C. and Maryland based non-profit corporation.

First Home Care currently has an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Business Office Representative to work with our Business Office in the Portsmouth, VA area.

The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:

• Complete billing and collections functions of third party payers of assigned community base programs.
• Ensure billing productivity standards.
• Follow-up on outstanding balances.
• Maintains the accuracy of assigned accounts daily.
• Completes daily, monthly and quarterly reports.

The following are the job requirements for the Business Office Representative position:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two or more years billing and collections/follow-up with third party payers preferably in healthcare setting.
• Electronic billing experience preferred.
• Behavioral health cares a plus.
• Must possess knowl3dge of medical terminology, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Must possess excellent customer service skills when dealing with internal and external customers.
