*Role Description*

The Business Operations Lead will help manage day-to-day operations of the RDRU. This role will interface closely with Finance to ensure that the RDRU adheres to the budget goals for the operating budget as well as portfolio budget, across 3 sites of operation in Cambridge MA, Chapel Hill NC, and London UK. The Business Operations Lead will act as the first point of contact for internal and external customers to triage issues and escalate them appropriately to find resolution. The Business Operations Lead will represent the RDRU on Site Operations Initiatives and will play a key role in influencing the culture of the RDRU.



*Responsibilities*

*Support day-to-day management of RDRU operations through development and effective implementation of operational plans and priorities*Work with Finance to create a budget and iterate dynamically throughout the year. * Working with the RDRU Business Manager, lead initiatives and oversee activities that are in keeping with Compliance, such as ENGAGE reporting of HCP engagements, contracting of external consultants and external collaborators, and appropriate allocation of FTE resources. *Interface with Finance regularly to ensure budget objectives are being met, and make recommendations to the Head of Portfolio Operations & Communications to pivot on priorities, and goals accordingly*Maintain oversight of RDRU budget and perform analytics to identify potential red flags before they become problematic*On demand analysis and communications of financial/investment metrics related to RDRU programs or business opportunities*Collate and report project activity data for monthly review by RDRU Leadership Team (LT), extracting key insights from data such as changes in resource demand or changes in resource availability*Manage partner line activities in conjunction with the RDRU Head of Portfolio Operations and Communication to make recommendations on prioritization of activities/spend in key partner lines*Ensure consistency in overarching RDRU processes and systems and that the RU is aligned with WRD and corporate processes and systems*Ad hoc creation of bespoke reports to track expenses, headcount, research obligations, etc. *Over time, seek to improve unit operations by proposing new processes and building organizational tools to support these processes.*Play a key role in influencing the culture of the RDRU by contributing to materials for RDRU All Hands meetings, taking responsibility for the implementation of a quarterly RDRU Newsletter, managing RDRU plasma screen content, and organizing the annual RDRU retreat.



*Qualifications*

*Advanced degree in life science or analytical science *5 years in pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience, or life science consulting *Deep knowledge of drug development process*Excellent ability to mine volumes of data for insight and produce presentation slides summarizing critical insights. Experience preparing slides for executive leadership or corporate customer *Strong acumen in managing, analyzing, and reporting portfolio and financial data, particularly experience with Excel-based forecasting, budgeting, and modeling. Fluency with budgeting and financial analytics*Established track record of successfully managing multi-discipline teams and projects to effectively facilitate meetings, enable strategic conversations and alignment, and timely delivery of expected deliverables*Excellent presentation, communication, and organization skills*Evident effectiveness in positively influencing organizational culture*Experience with utilizing multiple communication tools e.g. slides, plasma screen content, newsletters & brochures.*Demonstrated experience with industry platforms preferred*Comfort with trailblazing a work process that is not yet established, or deducing a solution that is not yet known.*Willingness to take measured risks to problem-solve independentlyNON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS Limited travel required to engage locally with RDRU remote sites.
