Who we are

The Global Service Provider EMEAR Strategy & Business Development Team is responsible for strategic projects and initiatives analyses aimed at accelerating Cisco’s business with Communications Service Providers in EMEAR.

We are a small team of technology, sales and consulting professionals within Cisco’s Global Service Provider sales organisation, and our remit spans Cisco’s solutions sold both to our Service Provider customers for use in their internal IT and production networks and through Service Providers to end user businesses (SP as a Channel). Typical projects include sales trends analysis, issue diagnosis and recommendations, opportunity sizing, customer segmentation, long-range planning and organisational design. Most projects are multi-functional, and we work closely with other GSP EMEAR direct and overlay sales teams as well as Marketing, Finance, Engineering, Services and the GSP global/ and regional strategy and planning teams.

We employ an agile, multi-functional and transverse approach to our projects and are involved in both developing recommendations and testing/piloting these recommendations before handing off to other teams to operationalise and execute at scale.

What you will do

Your main responsibility will be to support and drive strategic projects and initiatives designed to accelerate and expand Cisco sales in the EMEAR Service Provider market. You will scope, structure, develop and respond to requests for quantitative and qualitative advice from the GSP EMEAR senior leadership team and other relevant partners. Your primary work will include accurate, timely and high quality research, analysis, professional advice and tangible recommendations. Your specific role will vary from a team member to being a team- or work-stream leader, depending on the nature and scope of the project or initiative.

What you will need to be successful in the role

•             Qualifications

•             2+ years’ work experience as a management consultant, preferably at one of the big five consultancy firms, or 3+ years’ work experience as a business analyst or equivalent in a high tech or telco strategy/corporate advisory department

•             Solid understanding of enterprise IT or Service Provider Networking and operations

•             Fluency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Smartsheet and Google Forms (or similar) and high comfort level in adopting new tools and applications

•             Under-graduate degree (Business Administration, Engineering or related discipline)

•             Skills and attributes

•             Strong numerical and analytical skills

•             Pragmatic, structured, transversal approach to projects and analyses

•             Comfortable going from the big picture to detailed analysis to provide tangible, actionable recommendations

•             Ease transforming large quantities of unstructured and structured data into actionable insights

•             Ability to adapt to changing requirements, prioritise effectively and run multiple projects concurrently

•             History of success working in multi-functional, cross-cultural teams, virtually and in person

•             Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills

•             Ability to adapt communication style to work with people from across the company – from senior leaders to the working level

•             Passion for learning, innovation, pushing boundaries and achieving high levels of excellence through and with others

Where you will work
