Position Summary:
POSITION SUMMARY: The Buyer assists the System Director of Pharmacy with all purchasing activities of the department in order to maintain an efficient operation of drug distribution and control within the facility. Buyer functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist.

QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Detail Oriented, strong organizational skills 2. Must be able to work under stressful situations with the ability to adapt to a changing work environment 3. Must be able to prioritize and have good communication skills (verbal and written) 4. Good negotiating skills, strong mathematical and analytical skills 5. Knowledge of purchasing and contracting policies, laws and regulations 6. Computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) 7. Competent use of the pharmacy information system 8. An aptitude for working with other health care professionals 9. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE: 1. Associate’s Degree OR 4 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician 2. Current Pharmacy Technician certification
