As Team Lead on the Assess and Triage Behavioral Health Team you will be responsible for supporting, mentoring and coaching a team of licensed Care Advocates who provide telephonic care management services. This team provides initial utilization management and member support for all levels of care for both Mental Health and Substance Abuse services using established medical guidelines to ensure the best possible health outcomes both mentally and physically. You will work closely with the Clinical Program Manager and within an incredible team culture with a focus on clinical and business collaboration.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Support day to day operations of team as Subject Matter Expert for department
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to staff to ensure professional development
  • Provide telephonic care management services
  • Reviews staff member assessments and determining appropriate levels of care
  • Assessing and interpreting customer needs and requirements
  • Reviews cases and analyzes clinical information in conjunction with Medical Directors to determine the appropriateness of hospitalization
  • Manages escalated concerns/cases to resolution
  • Collaborates with Medical peers on consideration of levels of care
  • Works collaboratively with Clinical Program Manager to ensure the program is successful
  • Assists Manager with team meetings 
  • Identifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems
  • Solves moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses
  • Identifies ways to add value to department workflows
  • Collaborates with key stakeholders and leaders (e.g., Assess & Triage, Care Coordination, FBC, Intake/Customer Service, Appeals, Peer Review, Network, Affordability, GM's, NVP, RVP etc...) to ensure effective, interactive workflows and support for the goals / targets of other functional teams, as well as seamless processes for the consumer
  • In partnership with Clinical Program Manager accountable for meeting or exceeding metric goals (operational (e.g., review turnaround times, service levels if applicable) and utilization management (e.g., ALOS) established for the clinical care advocate team / function
