Position Summary:

Case Manager (RN) - Full-Time  

Job description may be revised in writing to add or delete duties at any time at the discretion of management.

Position Purpose: As a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team, the Case Manager interfaces with referral sources, community service agencies, and businesses. The Case Manager ensures compliance for quality patient care and compliance with JCAHO standards, State Health Department requirements and all other regulatory standards.


Position Reports To: Director of Case Management 

Position Supervises: None

Interpersonal Relationships: As a representative of Springwoods BH, all comments, attitudes, actions, and behaviors have a direct affect on the Facility’s image and perceptions of quality service. Interaction with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, affiliating schools, visitors, etc. must be in a manner that is friendly, supportive, courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional. This behavior should promote an atmosphere of team work which is congruent with facility standards and guidelines to promote positive relations.



1. Must have documented experience working with all age groups. Experience with senior adult is required.
2. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate in a clear, concise manner with referral sources, hospital staff and the public, as well as provide accurate and timely documentation and record keeping.
3. A good organizational and time management skill to cope with a fast-paced environment and frequent interruptions, complex schedules and fluctuations in census is required.
4. Timely, thorough and accurate interpretation of patient related information as related to functional performance.
5. Thorough understanding of and willingness to work within established practice standards and licensing limitations. Interpret mission, policies and critical events. Effectively communicate those interpretations to staff and foster climate that promotes continuous improvement and excellence in client care.
6. Clear, concise and timely documentation skills.
7. Must have interpersonal skill sets to work with patients, families, physicians, and staff. Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
8. Ability to work in behavioral health environment and observe the standards of care needed for patients



Licenses or Certifications: Current licensure and registration by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. Current CPR and AED certifications, or must obtain within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of the American Nursing Association Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse program with credentialing is preferred.

Total education, vocational training and experience: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Two years within a hospital, the behavioral health field, including one year in a lead nursing position role is preferred. Experience working with adolescents (ages 13-18), and/or adults (ages 18 plus) preferred.
